Parking Updates for 2024-2025

Parking:
- City of Arlington Municipal Court has temporarily moved into the former School of Social Work Building. They will be using lot 15 exclusively until renovations are completed at their building, expected October 2025.
- Lot 36 Student Upgrade is expanding to all of lot 36. A section of this lot will allow General Student Commuter parking beginning at 2 PM. Another section will remain reserved for Student Upgrade permits only, until 7 PM.
- Student Upgrade permits will now be allowed to use either Lot 49 or 36 upgrade areas beginning at 12pm.
- Lot 56 will be partially closed to support a research space used by the Civil Engineering Department.
- LoT 55 will be closed for temporary portable buildings that will be used by the faculty.
- Student Permits can only add 1 vehicle to a permit: Changes and updates can still be made instantly through the MavPark Portal for temporary or permanent vehicle replacements.
- Parking Rate Increase: Parking rates will increase to address lasting impacts and service opportunities post-pandemic, including $2 per month for general permits.
Construction:
- West Street closed to vehicle traffic between Doug Russell Rd. and S. West St to provide better pedestrian safety. The entrances to Lot 52 and 49 have also been closed on West St.
- Lot 35 is closed for use to support Maverick Hall construction.
- Lot 50 South was rebuilt in July at a cost of ~ $730,000.
- The north section of Lot F12 was reduced to provide a larger greenbelt along UTA Blvd.
transportation:
- TripShot will replace the Doublemap app for real-time bus availability starting Monday, August 5.
- Shuttle Stop Moved: The lot 49 shuttle stop has been relocated to the south end of lot 52 on Doug Russell Rd. This stop was previously located on S. West St. between lots 49 & 52.
- Shuttle Stop Added: Lot 53 has been added as a stop on the black route, which connects to the University Center.
Changes for 2025-2026:
- Lot 38 will close for construction of the University Center remodel December 2025, reopening in Summer 2028.
